January 8th - Paul Scadding

The quote from the image reads, “Love is where compassion prevails and kindness rules” – lovely!

Where do you get wisdom from? I’d love to know.

Wayne Dyer used to say, Abundance is not something we acquire. It is something we tune into.” I love this, and the same is true of wisdom. We have to tune in and tap into it. We can choose to listen to others’ fears or moaning; we can choose to listen to the woes of the world on the radio and lose all hope. We can choose to soak up all the horrors in the newspapers and let them darken our day, or we can choose to find nourishing ideas.

I hope (and try) to be wise, and thus, I read, I listen, I watch things that fill me up, help me grow and help me feel positive and motivated, and I pay attention because my love and wisdom can be tuned into and tapped into everywhere.

Wisdom is information that helps you make your life work. To be wise is to know how to apply that information to make your life work. Discernment is a key ingredient in personal growth because we need to know the difference between useful and not useful.

I think this is a trust exercise, and it’s a two-part idea for me: trusting yourself and trusting life.

One of the best affirmations that a mentor ever gifted me was.

“I trust the process of life to guide me perfectly on my journey”

I hated it at first and wanted an instruction manual to go with it, or a precise road map to tell me exactly what I needed to do to “get things right”. Once you let go of “getting it right”, you’ll start having fun and truly living. This affirmation does not mean you sit on the sofa and wait for life to come knocking; you have to do your part. But what it does is let you relax and go with the flow and feel more at ease as you live your life.

If you have any thoughts or questions, please let me know.

I love this. I find that when I feel stuck in life it’s because I’m tuning into the wrong stuff. I realise I need to get back on the right frequency! I’m t requires a lot of trust and that can sometimes be tested by life.

I am facing some personal challenges. I find sometimes my friends and/or family sometimes ask about progress.
It can drain me to talk about so instead of launching in to talking about it, I often say, mmm, can we not discuss just now?
It’s not really an avoidance thing, more a self-preservation thing. Let’s talk about something nice instead! 😆

    • You do not have to talk about anything that you do not wish.

“I’ll let you know when there is something to tell” is one I use alot.
“It’s not something I need to discuss – but thank you for asking” is another good one.

This is all “boundaries” work. Protecting your energy.

Ru Paul says, “Unless they are paying your bills pay them no mind” lol

    I’m going to channel RuPaul….🤣

Like you Paul. ‘Trusting in the process’ is a notion I’ve also found difficult to connect with. So thank you for how you’ve framed it above. 🙏🏽It’s resonating with me more so much more now.
When it comes to tuning into uplifting content .. i listen to Chris Evans on virgin radio every day , I know for some he’s marmite , but love him or hate him, the topics discussed are inspirational, educational and there’s alot of laughter. I start the day this way now , instead of switching on the news – and it helps 💜
